i'm really on the road...

ya...

in austin. just found out by looking in the free paper that my date which i had scheduled for TONIGHT is actually tomorrow night - the promoter must be a crackhead because i have very detailed notes about this...and i would NOT have booked it tomorrow since that's when i'm in dallas and i've had that date booked for a while.

jesus.

i've learned the important lesson to ALWAYS GET A CONTRACT.

and i'm so sick of playing booking agent for myself. this is a shit job. sorry - not trying to be negative, but when stuff like this happens, it's hard.

and there's nothing i can do. except drive on to the next city and hope for something better!

aside from that, everything is going well out here. for the most part. and i know it will get better.

i'm staying in this hotel that i've wanted to stay in every time i've been in austin...it's so very cool. now if only i had the show i booked to help pay for it! oh well...onward...

a new blog format in two parts...

in an attempt to sybchronize blogs and not favor one over the other (god - i've really turned into a super nerd) i've come up with a new plan...

i will now post my blogs in 2 parts. part one on this blog and part two on MY MYSPACE BLOG. (it's beneath the tourdates)

i had the strangest experience today...i was waiting outside my brother's office in venice. he's a film producer and shares office space with some other film producers. the offices are right on speedway, a block from the beach, and a favorite path of many homeless and/or crazy types.

as i sat in my car it was almost surreal - person after person walking by my car - each person crazier than the one before...

and then i see this guy walk by in a long wig. he looks real wacked. he has a suitcase and a handful of roses that he's flinging around in the air. he has a HUGE smile on his face. and he's talking to everyone on the street like he knows them.

he walks by the office doors and then doubles back and rings the doorbell. i see the door open...he's gesticulating wildly and i'm thinking to myself "is he an actor dressed up in a costume? is he actuall NOT crazy? do the people in my brother's office actually know this guy? what the HELL is going on???" and then he goes through the door...

meanwhile, i'm completely fascinated with this guy, for some reason.

then he comes out and takes the wig off, throws it to the ground, still holding onto his flowers which, by this time, are losing their petals all over the sidewalk.

ok guys - here is a list of the cities i've been unable to book so far.

by posting this list, i'm hoping that one of two things will happen. either someone in one of these cities or very close to one of these cities will want to host a house concert. OR someone in one of these cities will have a connection to a local venue and help me book something.

oh, it's a dilemma - i now have TWO blogs and i fear i've been neglecting this one.

and how did i end up with two blogs??? well, one was provided for me by myspace.com and is a feature on my myspace page. i had intention of using it and then, slowly, it seeped into my life. a little blog here, a quick note there, and all of a sudden it was active. sh*t.

i'll try to be more mindful of this, my first born blog, and you can also check out my myspace blog HERE. (the blog entries are right below the tour dates.)

almost forgot

i interviewed the band EISLEY the other night for interlude magazine's next issue. they ROCK!!! not only are they one of my favorite new bands, they are sweet, genuinely cool kids.

look for the interview in the next issue of interlude, due out in october, and go check out EISLEY in the meantime...
