it's been too long.
i've been without internet.
moving house.
need some shelves, too.
and a phone line.
and something to fill the 1/2 inch gap between the window and the window pane in my bedroom.
we're just off old street, and it's like a 24 hour party in the streets all the time.
well, a party that involves police sirens, drunken tirades, fist fights, various types of screams - joy, pain, terror - we got it all.
spent the daylight hours exploring all the markets - borough market, columbia road flower market, broadway market - it's fantastic.
but enough of the small talk.
i'm biting my nails a bit, anxious to get moving with everything i have planned for this next set of recordings, and, as usual, things always take so much longer than anticipated.
and go in the most bizarre directions, twisting and turning, becoming something entirely new.
that excites me, though.
major changes at my label, with every person on my personal "team" - and i'm just riding the waves, waiting to see what's to come.
every turn i take seems to lead to something more wonderful than i could have imagined, so i feel positive and calm amidst this crazy and turbulent ride.
it's not for the faint of heart - that is for damn sure.
i have only recently realized that i can in fact remain calm and centered and happy no matter what is going on around me.
i realized that i do not need to know everything about my life and my plan.
the honest answer when someone asks "so, what's happening with the music?" is - i honestly don't know!
i'm writing and talking to various people about various things, and writing and trying my hand at production in my spare time (yes - i started using logic last night and created a really cool song!) and i'm going to meetings and making plans and we shall see what comes of all of this.
something great is coming.
i can feel it.
everything in my life is tossed up into the air quite frequently, and it always leads to something amazing. some new level of whatever it is i'm working towards.
i have no news today.
my biggest excitement of the morning was purchasing a little dvd shelf for the wall in my room.
it's a really cool dvd shelf.
i'm playing a show at the troubadour in london on friday.
cool old venue. one of the first i played at in london, about a year and a half ago.
will be fun.
